I will not pay for come-ons
When you send a notice that someone has viewed my profile, and provide a link, I expect to SEE who viewed me. Thereafter, if I want more info on this person, or wish to connect, I'll pay.
If you demand that I pay before even seeing who viewed me, I like that to a carnival "pay me now, and see the bearded lady" - only to find it's a puppet with a beard.
If you're building a reputation based on reputation, nothing is more repulsive than getting the carnival nickle game.
I will NOT pay until you restructure your protocols and programs.
It seems that I'm not alone. read the messages, and you'll see that many others are repulsed by the nickle-dime approach you are taking.
GET WITH THE PROGRAM - fire the CEO and hire someone who understands viral community building.
If you're lucky, you'll be mentioned in articles that profile Linkedin, Youtube, Facebook, etc.
Otherwise, beyond the time I'm taking to write this message, there is little incentive to waste anymore time with Naymz.
Oh - and as CEO of a DOTCOM survivor, I'm not being hollow in my recommendations.
SO - here's the short list:
- if you send me an e-mail wanting me to see who has viewed my profile, SHOW ME.
- if you don't show me, than give me an OPT-OUT link instead.
- understand that I will NOT pay just to see your bearded lady - thereby determining the low class, low quality of your community, and I'll OPT-OUT anyway.
Best of luck. Hope you don't end up as a footnote in Wikipedia section on social networks 5 years from now, but I see it as a high probability.
